BioFach India together with India Organic 2010: Success in the market of the future in India
BioFach India celebrated its premiere in 2009 and together with India Organic attracted 129 exhibitors and 3.044 visitors from production, processing, trade and the service sector. The two events in the Bombay Exhibition Centre from 7–9 December 2010 offer an established platform for getting to know the market and making and cultivating contacts. Under the patronage of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements IFOAM and supported by the Indian Ministry of Agriculture NCOF, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries MOFPI, and the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority APEDA, the fifth international daughter of BioFach in Nürnberg got off to a brilliant start. The organizers expect more international exhibitors and trade visitors at this year’s event because the Indian organic sector is developing very promisingly.

BioFach India and India Organic Trade Fair: Potentials and perspectives for the Indian organic sector
Gerald A. Herrmann, Director of corporate consultant Organic Services, has many years of experience of the international organic market and profound knowledge of the Indian market acquired over the last 10 years. He also toured India many times in his function as President of IFOAM, the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements, from 2005 to 2008. Together with Ramesh Harve, the founding President of ICCOA, the International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture, he established Organic Services & Solutions India in 2005. We spoke to him about challenges, perspectives and potentials.

BioFach India 2009 and India Organic Trade Fair: Successful cooperation with brilliant premiere
The first BioFach India took place together with the fifth India Organic Trade Fair, IOTF, in the Bombay Exhibition Centre from 18-20 November. The two exhibitions reflect the entire spectrum of the Indian organic market: from production, certification and processing to trade. 129 exhibitors were delighted with the lively interest shown by the 3,044 trade visitors on the 1,332 m2 net space at the event. The two experienced partners, NürnbergMesse and ICCOA, International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture, the organizer of IOTF, intend this cooperation to decisively stimulate the development of national and international organic trade. The players in India and experts from all over the world are agreed: The time is ripe for giving India's organic sector a comprehensive exhibition platform and for creating stronger international market connections.
